The Lady Warriors Volleyball Team finished their road campaign with a big win against West Geauga. Both JV and varsity went all the way with JV ultimately losing 1-2 and varsity winning 3-2. The varsity evened its record at 3-3 on the season while the JVs are now 4-2.
The varsity squad fought for every point, which showed in the set scores of 25-23, 24-26, 22-25, 25-17, 15-9. The team was able to tally 10 aces from the service line. The team hit a season high of 53 kills, with every hitter contributing to the total.
Madi Hoopes was the kill leader with 22, followed by her sister
Kendelle Hoopes with 11 kills, then
Renae Emmons with 9.
Cailyn Fritz led the team at the net with 4 blocks and chipped in 5 kills. Freshman
Averie Barr recorded her first varsity kill and block in the 5th set of the match.
Aislyn Ring had 43 assists while contributing 8 digs. M. Hoopes and Elly Biskup controlled the back row with 22 and 17 digs, respectively, adding to a team total of 75 digs. K. Hoopes,
Peyton Twaddle,
Sydney Libb, and Izzy Ludwig all contributed 5 or more digs as well.
The Lady Warriors return home this Saturday hosting the Lady Indians of Girard. JV starts at 11am with varsity to follow.
