The Lady Warriors had a tough day on Saturday falling to both South Range and Smithville. In the first match against South Range the team battled hard, just coming up short 22-25 and 20-25. Aislyn Ring directed the offense with 14 assists in the match. Madi Hoopes led the team on both sides of the ball with 10 kills and 12 digs. Renae Emmons controlled the service line with 3 aces while chipping in 3 kills. Kendelle Hoopes and Elly Biskup had strong defensive performances with 10 digs apiece. 

In the second match, West Branch found themselves in a similar situation, falling to Smithville 23-25 and 19-25. Ring again ran the offense with 13 assists while notching a kill herself along with an ace and 3 digs. The Hoopes sisters led the team in scoring, with Madi earning 7 kills and 2 blocks while Kendelle collected 6 kills and 5 aces. The defense was a collective effort with M. Hoopes notching 5 digs, K. Hoopes and Biskup with 4, and Ring and Izzy Ludwig with 3 digs each. Emmons and Cailyn Fritz had 2 kills apiece, and Fritz added 2 blocks as well.  

The JV Squad went 1-1 on the day beating host Smithville and losing to South Range. Set scores of the first match against South Range were 25-23, 17-25, and 12-15. Set scores for the second match against Smithville were 25-23 and 25-21.

Both teams travel to Boardman on Tuesday for their next match with a first serve at 5:30pm.
