Beloit, OH -- The West Branch boys soccer team opened the 2026 campaign with an 8-1 win over Girard on Friday night.

Dane Martucci found the net four times in the opener, Reed Martucci scored twice, and Michael McCartney and Isaac Biery each added a goal.

Mason Thomas and Cruz Leone were credited with assists, while Lance Myers made five saves in goal. It was the kind of start West Branch was looking for as the Warriors begin a season with plenty of promise.

What's Next: The Warriors will have a little time off before returning to action on August 25, traveling to Boardman for a 7:15 p.m. matchup.
