The Helmet, officially the Gary Andreani Loyalty Award, will be up for grabs Friday night when the (7-1) West Branch Warriors welcome their rival Alliance to Clinton Heacock Stadium. The Aviators come in at (5-3).

West Branch rolled past Minerva 50-7 on the road last week. Alliance enters on the strength of a four game win streak, including a 34-0 road win over Coventry. West Branch has not lost to Alliance since the 2019 season and will look to keep The Helmet at home.

Last Season's Meeting

• West Branch won 34-28

QUICK HITTERS
A win would clinch at least a share of a seventh straight Eastern Buckeye Conference title for West Branch, which is 4-0 in the league and one game ahead of both Alliance and Salem ... the Warriors have won the last six meetings with Alliance, whose last win in the series came in 2019 ... two of the last three meetings were decided by eight points or fewer (49-41 in 2023 and 34-28 last season) ... last year West Branch scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and led 34-14 at the half, then held on after Alliance scored 14 straight points in the second half ... West Branch reloaded this season with several players who have been in the program and waited their turn, and the Warriors are 7-1 ... Grady Hirst went 18 of 21 for 229 yards at Minerva last week, and eight different Warriors caught a pass ... the Warriors are allowing 7.4 points per game ... Alliance has given up just 39 points over its four game win streak, an average of 9.8, including a 34-0 shutout at Coventry last week ... the Aviators have big play potential, but they have had trouble sustaining long, methodical drives, so if the Warriors limit the explosive plays, Alliance will be in a tough spot ... the winner takes home The Helmet.

Due to ongoing issues with Hudl, we have moved to a new streaming setup, and our broadcast now goes directly to YSN using a software called OBS instead of through Hudl. The game will still be available on the West Branch Hudl Fan page, but that feed will only show video, with no live audio and no scoreboard. For live audio, the scoreboard, and the full broadcast, make sure you tune in on YSN. We know the problems with Hudl have been frustrating for our fans and viewers, and we want to provide the best stream possible.   |    YSN LINK
