West Branch looks to get back on track Friday night when it travels to Carrollton for a Week 7 Eastern Buckeye Conference matchup.

The Warriors (5-1, 2-0 EBC) suffered their first loss of the season last week, falling 24-14 to Canfield. The Cardinals have been a thorn in West Branch's side in recent years, but there is no time to dwell on it with league play back on the schedule.

Carrollton (1-5, 0-2 EBC) has struggled to find its footing this fall, and history is firmly on the visitors' side. West Branch has won 15 straight meetings in the series, and Carrollton's last win over the Warriors came back in 2010.

Last Season's Meeting

• West Branch won 48-7

QUICK HITTERS

Canfield leaned on the ground game last Friday... the Cardinals ran for 265 yards on 45 carries, more than West Branch's first five opponents managed combined... before that, nobody had reached the end zone on the ground against the Warriors, and getting back to that standard at Carrollton starts up front.

Landon Coffee is the guy to lead that charge... he paces the defense with 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and 11 pressures, plus a fumble recovery... expect to see plenty of him in the Carrollton backfield Friday, and he's a target on offense too, with 18 catches for 218 yards.

Owen Bloss has quietly been one of the most reliable tacklers on the field... his 37 total hits rank second on the team, 23 of them solo stops... Damon Edwards adds two tackles for loss from last week to go with 209 rushing yards and four touchdowns, and both will be key to keeping Carrollton's offense in check.

The offense moved the ball all night against Canfield... West Branch outgained the Cardinals 382 to 310 and won the first down battle 20 to 13... cleaning up three turnovers is the focus this week, and doing that at Carrollton turns those long drives into points.
