Struthers and Boardman, OH -- The West Branch girls tennis team competed in the OHSAA Sectional Tournament earlier today. The Lady Warrior singles players traveled to Boardman, while the doubles team made the trip to Struthers. Both teams competed, but no one was able to advance to the Sectional Finals on October 4th.
WB Singles
Senior
Audrey Miner got off to a great start defeating Mariah Hartley of Crestwood in straight sets (6-0, 6-1). In the next round, Miner faced the No. 2 seed, Sisi Nalluri of Canfield, and fell (0-6, 0-6).
Cailyn Brink was beaten by Miranda Timko of Southeast (2-6, 2-6), and
Annabelle McGuire also fell to Southeast's Makayla Flores (2-6, 4-6).
WB Doubles
The West Branch doubles team of
Addison Bloor and
Landry Simon dropped their match to Izla Zinz and Alyssa Wallace of Southeast (1-6, 4-6).
Another bright spot for the Lady Warriors came from the doubles duo of Junior
Leah Irey and Senior
Abigail Carver. They picked up a big match victory of Olivia Snedecker and Emily Fowler of East Palestine (6-1, 6-2). Unfortunately, the duo bowed out in the next round to Southeast's doubles team of Caroline Sherry and Natalie Kemble (2-6, 4-6).

Thanks to our three seniors for their leadership, and to the team for their positive attitude and continued improvement throughout the season. We are excited for the future as we return nine players next season.
