The Lady Warrior soccer team used a strong second half to overwhelm the Minerva Lions on Wednesday in the team EBC opener. The Warriors score six second half goals on its way to an 8-0 win. The team is now 6-0-1 on the season and 1-0 in the EBC.
Led by a strong defense of
Alli Kanagy, Lexi McFarland,
Ciara Evans,
Maggie Tennefoss,
Hallie Vie Burton, Hallie Singer,
Ellie Tucker, and
Audrey Eaton, the Warriors have given up just two goals all season and picked up its fifth shutout on the year.
Alinee Bacconi and
Elli Colian led the scoring with two goals apiece.
Sammi Beatty, Cambire Nezbeth,
Grace Bates, and
Caidee Schroeder also put balls in the back of the net for the Warriors. In addition to her two goals, Colian added three assists while Nezbeth and Bacconi each picked up an assist.
Eaton made four saves in goal.
The Warriors will have a week off before heading to Marlington on Wednesday, September 10th for another EBC rivalry game.
