Beloit, OH -- Yesterday was a special day for the Warrior boys soccer program. The team took the field for the first time on the brand-new turf at Clinton Heacock Stadium, and the spotlight was bright with the matchup being featured as the Steel Valley Soccer Game of the Week.
After a scoreless first half, West Branch found its rhythm after the break, controlling the pace and pulling away from Boardman to earn a 3-0 victory. It was the perfect way to christen the new field on a chilly Thursday night.
The Warriors were led by a pair of goals from all-time leading scorer Gavin Clemens, while Reed Martucci added a goal and an assist. In net, Lance Myers was stellar once again, recording five saves to earn the shutout.
