In the volleyball teams home opener, fans were treated to an exciting back and forth contest against the West Geauga Wolverines. The match went five full sets with the Warriors prevailing in the deciding set 15-13 to earn the 3-2 victory. With the win West Branch improves to 2-1 on the season.
The two teams split the first four sets with West Branch taking the first and third sets (25-17, 25-18) but falling in the second and fourth sets (20-25, 25-27).
Freshman
Madilyn Hoopes led all hitters with 16 kills. M. Hoopes had 6 blocks, 7 points, and 8 digs to add to her stats.
Audrey Ring had 7 kills, 3 aces, 12 points, 9 blocks, and 12 digs while
Kendyll Kaley had 2 aces, 6 points, 7 blocks, 16 digs, and 5 kills.
Setters
Aislyn Ring and
Kendelle Hoopes put up 17 and 15 assists, respectively. K. Hoopes had 8 points, 8 blocks, 11 kills, and 15 digs. Freshman Ring had 10 points and 14 digs.
Next Up: The Warriors will travel to Austintown to take on the Fitch Falcons on Thursday. JV's start at 5:30 with the Varsity at 7 PM.
