The West Branch boys tennis team improved to 1-0 on the season as the Warriors swept Louisville Monday afternoon in five very competitive matches.
Camden Lane lost the first set 1-6 and battled back to win a 3rd set tie breaker at 3rd singles. Zak Karlen and
Damon Edwards also lost their first set 5-7 and then won a 3rd set tie breaker 10-8 at 1st doubles. The 2nd doubles team of
Trey Thomas and
Xander Culbertson trailed 2-5 in the first set before coming back to win 7-6 and then 6-0 in the 2nd set.
Also winning for the Warriors were
Caden Zion (6-2, 6-4) at 1st singles and
Evan Hancock (6-1, 6-3) at 2nd singles.
In JV action,
Austin Hawk won 6-0 while Cameron McCartney &
Jeremy Augustein won 6-2.
Next up for West Branch will be an EBC home match against Marlington.
