Three Warrior Grapplers Move on to Districts

The West Branch Fieldhouse played host to 14 teams for the OHSAA Sectional Wrestling Championships on Saturday, February 22nd with the top four finishers from each weight class moving on to next weeks OHSAA District Championships at Kenston High School.

Gavin Hang led the way for West Branch placing first at the 215 pound weight class.  Hang earned his trip to the finals by pinning his opponents from Marlington and Salem.  In the finals he once again took control of the match winning by a major decision 12-3 against his foe from Madison to win the weight class.

JJ Marra finished in second place for the Warriors.  Marra moved on the the championship match by defeating the #1 seed from Perry 16-7 in the championship semifinals. 

Kamron Bradt finished in fourth place at 165 pounds.  Bradt pinned his challenger in the quarterfinals from Coventry in just :37 seconds.  After dropping the semifinal match to the #1 seed, Bradt came back with a pin of his Notre Dame Cathedral Latin opponent to book his trip to next weeks districts.

As a team the Warriors finished in 8th place with with 80 points.  Perry was the sectional champion with 275 points.
