Beloit, OH -- Earlier today, the West Branch Lady Warrior basketball team welcomed Boardman to the West Branch Fieldhouse. A strong all-around performance powered the Warriors to a convincing 51–25 victory.
Boardman led 8–6 after the first quarter and kept things close until a few minutes before halftime, when the Warrior defense ramped up the pressure. West Branch forced several turnovers during that stretch to extend the lead to 25–15 at the break. From there, the Lady Warriors never looked back, cruising to the 51–25 win. Coach DeShields' defense was outstanding, forcing 26 turnovers on the afternoon.
Freshman Madi Hoopes once again reached double figures, leading all scorers with 17 points. Audrey Eaton also finished in double digits with 14 points, knocking down three 3-pointers. Sophomore Sydney Lane added 6 points in a strong all-around performance, while Alli Kanagy chipped in 5.
Credit as well to Hallie Vie Burton, Tallie Muniz, Sydney Lane, and Madi Hoopes for their work on the offensive and defensive glass throughout the game.
What's Next: The Lady Warriors improve to 4-0 and will host Marlington this Wednesday at 6:45 PM. It will also be Youth Night.
