Beloit, OH -- Coming off two strong wins to open the season, the West Branch Lady Warriors hosted Minerva tonight for an EBC contest. West Branch set the tone early, jumping out to a 19 to 2 lead after the first quarter and taking a 26 to 8 advantage into halftime.
The Lady Warriors kept the momentum going out of the break, turning up the defensive pressure and outscoring the Lions 20 to 4 in the third quarter. West Branch closed it out with a dominant 56 to 21 win to move to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in EBC play.
Many Lady Warriors contributed across the stat sheet tonight, but senior Sammi Beatty led the way with 16 points, including two made three-pointers. Freshman Madi Hoopes continued her strong start, scoring 11 points and recording her third straight game in double figures. Alli Kanagy added 7 points, while freshman Iris Nezbeth chipped in 5. Tallie Muniz, Elli Colian, Alinee Bacoconi, Sydney Lane, Hallie Vie Burton, Audrey Eaton, and Ciara Evans also scored for West Branch in the victory.
What's Next: The Lady Warriors are now 3-0 (1-0 EBC) and will be back in action this Saturday for a home non-conference matchup with the Boardman Spartans. JV tips at 12:00 p.m., followed by varsity at 1:30 p.m.
