Beloit, OH -- It has been quite an impressive start to the 2025-26 season for the West Branch Lady Warrior basketball team. Last night, they welcomed EBC rival Marlington to the West Branch Fieldhouse. The Lady Warriors came ready to play, jumping out to an early 16-2 lead before shutting out the Dukes in the second quarter to take a 28-2 advantage into halftime.
In the third quarter, Coach DeShields' team continued its strong performance, building a large enough lead to start a running clock. West Branch was able to get contributions from the entire roster before cruising to a convincing 47-13 home victory.
The Lady Warriors kept the scoreboard busy all night, led by Madi Hoopes' 14-point performance. Sammi Beatty followed with 8, while Elli Colian and Alli Kanagy each added 6 points. Tallie Muniz chipped in 5, and Hallie Vie Burton and Audrey Eaton each scored 3. West Branch also knocked down shots from all over the floor, adding another layer to an already strong offensive showing.
Defensively, the Warriors were locked in from the opening tip, making everything difficult for Marlington. Team chemistry stood out as well, with sharp passing and strong ball movement helping West Branch stay in control from start to finish.
What's Next: West Branch moves to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the EBC. The Lady Warriors will be back in action on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Alliance. The game is varsity only.
