Beloit, OH --
After just over a week off, the West Branch Lady Warriors basketball team returned to the court at home for the first time this season, hosting the visiting Lake Blue Streaks.
Following a back-and-forth first quarter, Lake jumped out to an early 11-9 lead. That's when the Warrior defense tightened up, holding the Blue Streaks to zero second-quarter points and taking a 19-9 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Coach DeShield's team continued to play hard, combining 22 second-half points with gritty defense to secure a 37-26 victory.
Audrey Eaton led the Lady Warriors with 13 points, including two three-pointers, while freshman Madi Hoopes added 12 points. Sydney Lane and Tallie Muniz each contributed 4 points. Only two Lake players scored all night.
What's next: The Lady Warriors, now 2-0, will host Minerva at home on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.
