The girls soccer continued its dominance in the EBC winning its 12th straight EBC title with a 2-0 victory tonight over Salem at the West Branch Soccer Complex. The Quakers came into the game with a chance to steal the title away from the Warriors with a victory, but the strong defense of the Warriors wouldn't let it happen, suffocating Salem scoring chances en route to the victory. With the win the Warriors improve to 12-0-2 and a perfect 5-0 in the EBC.
Scoring a first half goal for West Branch was
Caidee Schroeder with an assist from
Cambrie Nezbeth. Late in the second half Nezbeth iced the game away with a goal of her own, crushing any Salem hopes of a comeback.
Aurdrey Eaton picked up the shutout with seven saves tonight. With its 11th shutout of the season, the team now holds the regular season shutout record with two games to go. Eaton also picked up her 11th shutout tying the single season record for shutouts in a season.
In JV action the two squads tied 0-0 in 1/2 of play. The team is now 1-4-6 on the season. Addi Dudley had one save in net. Along with Dudley, the defense of
Maggie Tennefoss,
Stella Bacconi, Maddi Brammer, Bri Clark, and
Kaylee Hoops combined for the shutout.
Next Up: The Warriors will host Ursuline on Monday evening. The JVs are scheduled to start at 5:30 PM followed by the varsity at 6:30 PM.
