It was a monumental game for Coach Dean and the Warrior girls soccer team as they faced Alliance. Last season, the Aviators eliminated West Branch from the playoffs, leaving a bitter taste that fueled the Warriors motivation.
Throughout the season, the Warriors have faced skepticism, but they continue to exceed expectations. Tonight, they secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Alliance, claiming first place in the EBC.
The Game:Â Alliance struck first, taking an early 1-0 lead in the game. However, sophomore
Alinee Bacconi responded with a goal, finishing off a pass from
Emma Klingensmith to level the score at 1-1. In the second half,
Cambrie Nezbeth found the back of the net with an assist from
Allie Brammer, giving the Warriors a 2-1 victory.
Audrey Eaton and the Warrior defense delivered a strong performance, effectively neutralizing the Aviator attack. Eaton recorded eight saves.
What's Next:Â With the win, the Lady Warriors improve to 5-2-3 overall and 3-0 in the EBC. They will next face Berkshire at home on Monday, September 23, at 6 PM, which will also be Senior Night.
