The 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams split a match Thursday evening at Western. The 8th grade won in three sets while the 7th grade fell in two.
For the 8th grade, they continued to stay perfect at the halfway point of the season. The Warriors won the first set 25-14 before falling 22-25 in set two. In the deciding third set, West Branch prevailed 28-26. Leading the way was
Lylah Myers with 11 points and three aces.
Jaimi Mossgrove added eight points and one ace.
Aislyn Ring had six points and seven aces while
Layla Shinn had six points.
Cecilia Raga contributed 13 assists while
Madi Hoopes had 23 kills and three blocks.
The 7th grade dropped two sets 20-25 and 9-25.
Gretchen McCormick had four points and
Averie Barr had two kills.
The 8th grade is now 9-0 on the season while the 7th grade reaches the halfway mark at 4-5. The teams will head to Salem on Monday for a 5:30/6:30 start.
