Beloit, OH - After clinching the sectional championship, Coach Dean's Warriors faced what they expected to be a relatively easy matchup against the 32nd-seeded Northwest Indians in the district semifinals. The Indians came in with a record of 4-12-2, but they had pulled off a surprising upset, knocking out 8th-seeded Tuslaw to earn their shot against West Branch.

The game proved to be anything but easy. At halftime, both teams were locked in a tense 0-0 stalemate. Northwest's strategic game plan made life difficult for the Warriors, who struggled to find the back of the net despite generating some chances. Indian goalkeeper Adalie Horsfall came up big with several fantastic saves, keeping the game scoreless.

More than halfway through the second half, the deadlock was finally broken when Alinee Bacconi found the net, giving the Warriors a 1-0 lead, assisted by Caidee Schroeder. Moments later, Presley Egli added some insurance with a second goal, extending the lead to 2-0, with Ellie Tucker providing the assist.

With the clock winding down, the Warriors held strong, battling through the final minutes to secure the 2-0 victory and advance to the district finals on Saturday. Audrey Eaton was stellar in goal, making several key saves to preserve the shutout. 

What's Next: The girls soccer team is headed to the District Championship Game this Saturday at 11:00 AM against the third-seeded Ravenna Southeast, who remain undefeated this season. The game will take place at Berkshire's new Great Lakes Cheese Stadium.
