The 7th and 8th volleyball teams closed out their season today at home against Salem. The 8th grade defeated the Quakers 25-10 and 25-15 to finish the season at 16-2 and 9-1 in the conference. The 7th grade dropped a tight three set contest to Salem 23-25, 25-11, and 11-25. The 7th grade finished 10-8 overall and 6-4 in the league while Salem finished their 7th grade season with a 10-0 league record.
Leah Barnett finished with 10 points tonight for the 8th grade squad.
Madi Hoopes added eight kills, five points, and three aces while
June Carli finished with nine points.
Aislyn Ring had four points and five assists and
Jaimi Mossgrove had six points and three aces.
The 8th grade team finished with the best conference record and earned a bye in the upcoming EBC volleyball tournament. The girls will play next Wednesday at Minerva. The full bracket will be released by Friday.
The 7th grade team was led by
Averie Barr with 10 points and five aces.
Willow Ann Burton had eight points and two kills.
McKenzie Hang added four assists and two kills while
Zayla Woods finished with nine points and two aces.
The 7th grade team will await the conclusion of the Minerva-Carrollton game to determine seeding. The first two rounds of the 7th grade tournament will be held at Marlington.
