Gavin Clemens broke the career record for goals scored as he helped lead the Warriors to an EBC victory over Salem tonight 4-2. Clemens now has 42 career goals. With the victory the Warriors close out the EBC schedule with a 3-1-1 conference record. West Branch is 9-2-2 overall.
Xander Culbertson gave the Warriors a first half lead scoring two goals. Clemens helped extend the lead to 3-1 before Salem cut the lead to 3-2 on a penalty kick after a foul inside the box. Sophomore
Reed Martucci iced the game with a little over 10 minutes remaining with a goal, giving the Warriors the ever important two goal lead.
Martucci assisted on two goals. Clemens and
Trey Thomas also picked up assists.
Devon West made 10 saves in goal.
Next up for West Branch will be a home match up with Ursuline on Thursday. Fans are encouraged to wear yellow for the game in honor of Warrior soccer player
